Here are some tips to making your favourite products last longer...

Moisturiser
One Blueberry
For most people this is enough for your face and neck. Lightly rub in the palm of your hands to warm the product. Then pat it onto your forehead, cheeks and chin, and work it in with a gentle upwards and outwards motion.

Serum
2 or 3 Skittles
Serums promise results, so it's a little tempting to slap them on, but these formulas are concentrated ( and expensive ). Press the product into your cheeks, forehead and chin. Then tap your face with your fingers to stimulate circulation.

Facial Oil
2 Peas
A little oil goes a long way. Two drops are enough for the face and two more for the neck and decolletage. Use facial oils straight after cleansing and toning, so it glides on easily. It means you use less in the long run.

Eye Cream
A grain of rice per eye
The skin around your eyes is delicate and sensitive. You only need a tiny amount and adding more won't make it work any better. Think one grain of rice per eye and pat it into the skin for even distribution.

Shampoo
One teaspoon
With a good quality shampoo, you should only need a little. Wet your hair thoroughly ( the wetter your hair, the less shampoo you need ) then pour a teaspoon sized blob into your hands, rub them together and apply, concentrating on your roots. If it doesn't lather up enough, add more water not more shampoo.

Sunscreen
2 tablespoons for body, plus 2 teaspoons each for your face, neck and arms.
Its really important to know how much sunscreen to apply because not applying enough you will not get the full protection of your spf.

Get The Look...

Day to night

You Will Need...
1. Dainty Doll Lashes in Something Wonderful
2. Giorgio Armani Waterproof Silk Eye Pencil in 2
3. Maybelline Color 24hr Tattoo in Permanent Taupe
4. Nars Duo Eye Shadow in Vent Glace

1. Apply Maybelline Color 24hr Tattoo in Permanent Taupe, over your lid to form the perfect base for powders that'll last all day and night.

2. Pat the darker shade from Nars Duo Eye Shadow in Vent Glace, around your socket line, and the lighter shade on the top of your lid.

3. Finish by smudging Giorgio Armani Waterproof Smooth Silk Eye Pencil in 2, around the eye. Blend in using the sponge end and apply brown mascara for the day time, then add a set of false eyelashes like Dainty Doll Lashes in Something Wonderful, for the night.

Flapper Red Lips

Flapper Red Lips

Red lips are the only ones to wear this winter.
Go deep, sultry and dark like a '20s flapper girl.

1. Line your lips with an almost blackberry coloured lip liner.
Blend the colour in towards the centre of your lips,
but leave the middle blank.

2. Apply your deep red lipstick to the centre of your lips.
Blot a few times between layers.

3. Finish with a lipgloss  just in the centre. Shape your lips into an "O" shape, pop your finger in the middle and pull it out to remove any excess lipstick to avoid getting it on your teeth.

With the new year come new make-overs...
If you are bored of your long locks, but are not ready for the chop?
Here is a easy cheat to create a new style without even going near a pair of scissors....

This style will look best on layered hair so that you can leave the hair to fall naturally around the face.

How To Do It...
1. After blow drying your hair with volumising mousse or
lotion, split your hair into two sections:
the underneath and the top section.

2. Clip the top section away and then messily plait or braid the underneath section of the hair, pinning it flat against your head. This creates a base in which you can loosely pin the rest of your hair.

3. Take one inch sections of the top section and curl the hair with medium sized irons, focusing on the mid-lengths and ends. Spray each section with medium hold hairspray.

4. Once all the hair has been tonged, take down section by section and loosely pin the ends under and into your plaited foundation, teasing out the hair.

5. Finish with a firm but flexible hairspray for hold.

Nail Trend by chloejay1988 featuring a gray nail polish

Less jarring than black, metallic grey is a great way to add edge to a look in an understated way, and its super versatile too.

Looks great with hot pink, top to toe black or molten metallics for a totally smokin' look.

Party Hair

Party Hair

Your Boho chain isn't just for summer...
here is a way of glam it up for this party season.

  1. Section off your hair into 2in wide pieces, then twist each one from root to tip.
  2. Clamp your twisted locks into hair straighteners, this will create subtle waves and spray lightly with hairspray.
  3. Release all the twists... using your fingers, roughly comb and shake out the twists. Make a centre parting and place your hair chain on.

Wet Hair

The Dos...

  • Keep your look in place with a silk headscarf or band. It goes with the beachy wet look and softens it up a bit too.
  • Add extra gloss with shine-boosting hairspray for hold.
  • Twist your wet hair into a bun for a super sleek wet look, added bonus with this look you will be left with bouncy dry look later on.
The Don'ts...

  • Pile too much product onto wet hair. It's less porous and can be easily weighed down.
  • Attempt the wet look on dirty hair, it'll look stringy rather than sexy.
  • Use a brush on wet hair - it create frizz and you lose the definition of comb marks.

You know it's a winner when this many
 A-listers love it too!

Some Extra Tips...

  • If your hair dries frizzy, use serum through the ends and some wet look gel at the roots to create gloss.
  • Wet hair is fragile - comb with a wide tooth comb first, starting from tips working your way up to the roots to prevent any tangles. Then swap for a fine-tooth comb, adding a little amount of leave-in conditioner.
Looks To Create...

glam pony
  1. Apply a polish into the palms of your hands and slick down the front of your hair, pulling it back so it stays extra-sleek.
  2. Next, tie your hair into a high ponytail, aiming for just above your ears - it's the most flattering position as it makes your jawline look defined.
  3. Wrap your ponytail around your styling wand, then take a small section of the pony, wrap it around the elastic and pin it in place, so that the elastic is well hidden.

sleek & Neat

  1. Comb the hair through while hair is wet for super sleek roots, then make into a low side ponytail.
  2. Split your ponytail in half and plait each side.
  3. Wrap one of the plaits into a bun and then wind the other around it for a woven effect, pin it in place.

Fresh Faced by chloejay1988 featuring a tinted moisturizer

Summer 2012 is definetly all about the skin your in. Whether its tanned and toned or bright and natural. Its never been more important to
 look after your skin.
Always make sure your foundation is well matched to the tone of your complexion. Opt for tinted moisturisers or liquid foundations rather than apowdery based formula for a sheer finish with added glow. Make sure your lips are in tip top condition. Highlight cheeks and brows with highlighting products to give the face added glow.
Remeber their is a difference between shine and glow. Invest in some brightening concealer to even out skin tone under the eyes and brighten around the nose and cupids bow, lightening the eyelids will add to this look.
